MyCommunityMortgages^SM is a suite of mortgage loan options that feature flexible qualifying criteria and enable borrowers to make low down payments. These financing options are available to borrowers with an income at or below 100 percent of the area median income. The features of the MyCommunityMortgages suite of options are designed to help people overcome barriers such as blemished credit or shortfall in down payment, taking into consideration that lower-wealth borrowers experience significant challenges in accumulating funds for down payments and closing costs. A borrower’s down payment can come from a variety of flexible sources, including grants and unsecured/secured loans from non-profit organizations, government agencies or employers.
